Post-event: Marketplace Ministry: Theology and Ministry Made Purposeful in Marketplace

These were nights to remember as the speaker, Benjamin Pwee brought about many paradigm-shifting moments to the crowd of 350 people. He challenged us to rethink some of the beliefs and attitudes we hold on to that are narrow, self-centered, biased, prejudiced, self-defeating, unbiblical and worldly. We were also “provoked” to reflect on how we determine worth and value in the marketplace. Here are some pondering questions:

· What is our core belief and identity?
· How do we build relationships of meaning, value and communication?
· How do we find opportunities to create value in the workplace?
· How do we avoid marginalizing and insulating ourselves and thus making ourselves relevant to the world?
· Have our views been neutralized or neutered by the postmodernism culture such that everything becomes relative?
· How can we live out our vocational calling?
· How can we use all resources given to me to create value in our work?

If you come up with some ideas on how to add value or create opportunities for value in your workplace (e.g. I’d look out for new staff and help them to feel welcome) and would like to share them, please blog them here. This forum to exchange ideas is open from now till 31 Oct.

Post-event: Life of Christ Seminar

The response to this seminar was overwhelming, with more than 300 people attending and being blessed by the teaching. It was conducted over a period of 15 hours and topics covered included the chronological order of events that took place in the life of Christ, focusing on His final week on earth, as well as some of His key teachings. Through the teaching and question-and-answer session, participants were able to view what the four gospels said about the same thing, and also clarifications to differing gospel accounts. The participants have a firmer grasp and heart reckoning of who Christ is and who they are in Christ.
